Our Instructors

Yu

Art Mentor | Visual Designer

Yu graduated from the Affiliated High School of the Central Academy of Fine Arts and later earned his undergraduate degree from the Central Academy of Fine Arts in Beijing. He also pursued graduate studies in Visual Communication at the University of Art and Design Helsinki in Finland.

With over 20 years of experience in art, design, and creative direction, his work spans painting, publishing, visual design, exhibitions, and digital multimedia. He has served as Design Director at Variety China and the China Millennium Monument Digital Arts Museum.

At Hue Lab, Yu brings his multidisciplinary creative experience into the classroom, encouraging students to observe, think visually, experiment, and develop their own artistic voice.

Syl

Art Mentor | Art Educator

Syl holds a master’s degree from the University of Edinburgh and brings 8 years of art teaching experience from elementary school through the university level. A First-Class Secondary School Art Teacher in Guangdong, China, she has taught a national-level teacher-training demonstration lesson and contributed to multiple professional publications on art education and interdisciplinary learning.

Her students have received 60+ offers from leading art schools, including Central Saint Martins, RCA, RISD, Parsons, and Pratt, as well as 70+ regional and provincial art awards.

At Hue Lab, Syl combines strong art foundations, inquiry-based learning, and individualized guidance to help students grow into confident, independent creators.
